New Delhi, Feb 8 (IANS) After creating havoc on reality show "Bigg Boss 4", loud-mouthed Dolly Bindra has been roped in to play Kabootari Mai, an overbearing character in Imagine TV's "Armanon ka Balidaan".The actress will be introduced on the show Feb 15. She will play an extremely loud and dominating woman, who runs a family business of funeral services. Dolly is quite excited about her new show.
"I am totally enjoying playing the character of Kabootari Mai. It is a great show and I hope I can make it even more interesting and intriguing. It is a very strong character and an intrinsic part of the story. I hope the audience accepts me and supports me as they have done in the past, " Dolly said in a press statement.
Dolly will play a crass mother-in-law, who refuses to accept her son's wife, and is only convinced to do so in lieu of a hefty sum of money. But she still vows to make life hell for her daughter-in-law.
As far as her getup is concerned, the actress will wear a bindi in the shape of a trishul as well as heavy and Bold neckpieces for her role.
According to the channel officials, Dolly is the perfect choice for the role - given the over-the-top aura that has been built around her thanks to "Bigg Boss 4".
"We needed a very good actor for this role - someone over-the-top, entertaining and who could make the role spicy. We did have three to four options, but we decided to go with Dolly because she suited it perfectly, " Saurabh Tewari, head of programming (Fiction), Imagine TV, told IANS.
The channel is also trying to Cash in on her recent popularity.
We would certainly not deny that Dolly had an edge over others because she has been a lot in the news lately. It is definitely an added bonus to the show. She has something about her personality that has stayed on with viewers and that will help us, " he added

Kolkata, Jan 11 (IANS) Anurag Thakur, a member of the Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council and president of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, said Tuesday he is hopeful about Saurav Ganguly getting associated with one of the franchises before the fourth edition of the League begins April 8.
"I know him (Sourav) for a long time, he is very good friend of mine. He is a great player. But as Preity Zinta had said, the director chooses the actor according to the role. Twenty20 is altogether a different Game, " Thakur said while talking to media persons here Wednesday.
"Those who are investing money in T20 should always think how they could use the expertise and experience of a great player like Sourav. There was a statement from Shahrukh Khan and from that I feel that Shah Rukh and Sourav might have conversed, and I hope something will come out, " said Thakur.

In a video aired on Thursday, Ayman al-Zawahri also told the United States that al-Qaeda would continue to launch deadly attacks until US troops quit Iraq and all other Muslim countries. "Blair's policies brought you destruction in central London and will bring you more destruction," Zawahri, Osama bin Laden's deputy, said in the tape aired by Al Jazeera television. 'Our message to you is clear'
He stopped short of directly claiming responsibility for last month's bomb attacks against London's transport system, which killed more than 50 people. At least two groups linked to al-Qaeda have claimed responsibility for the attacks. Zawahri said the US was lying about its losses in Iraq, "as it had in Vietnam", and called on Washington to immediately withdraw its troops. "What you have seen in New York, Washington and Afghanistan are only the initial losses," said Zawahri, referring to the September 11 2001 attacks on the US, for which al-Qaeda claimed responsibility. "If you (the US) continue the same hostile policies, you will see something that will make you forget the horrors you have seen in Vietnam," he added.
